Wolfberry (Goji)

枸杞子(GOJI) (concentrated fermented extract)

SpagoMed Wolfberry extract uses a special fermentation and concentration procedure to extract the best out of this ancient herb. Wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) or some company created the name GOJI for it is the fruit of a common shrub, small and oval in shape, reddish orange with a sweet but coarse taste. A superior herb, a popular health tonic since ancient times in China and is widely used in many longevity and eye formulas. We use only the highest quality large size dried berries for our extract production.

There has been a lot of excitement lately about this herb and several studies showed the benefits of Gou Qi Zi in a variety of health issues. These effects are easily explained by looking at the impressive list of constituents of the berry. Wolfberry contains powerful antioxidant as well as 18 kinds of amino acids [including the 8 essential amino acids], more beta-carotene than carrots. It is loaded with vitamins A, B1, B2, B6, C and Vitamin E and beneficial polysaccharides. In many studies (including several published by the State Scientific and Technological Commission in China) it has been found effective in increasing white blood cells, protecting liver function, lowering cholesterol and blood pressure, relieving hyper-tension, helping to strengthen the immune system while building muscle tissue and burning body fat.

Our R&D team at SPAGOMED refined the extraction technique to the point by developing a controlled unique fermentation method. At these ideal conditions we managed to create an extract that is extremely bioactive, very easy to digest and also has a pleasant taste. Many of our customers reported a stronger and faster action than by consuming the raw berries themselves. The extract is then 4 times concentrated using the gentle low temperature vacuum distillation technique.

Ingredients: Wolfberry (Lycium barbarum) fruit, 25% naturally fermented alcohol.

Dosage and usage: Unless otherwise directed by a physician, take ½ tsp. in the morning and evening. Can be used over extended periods of time (1 year +) without side effects.

Cautions and Contraindications: Generally regarded as safe. Not to be used during pregnancy and with conditions involving high blood pressure.
